Callington Art School is based in a beautiful location in Cornwall. Enjoy a stay in our 4 Star Georgian Town House and improve your drawing and/or painting skills on one of our residential art courses.

The Tutor
Tessa's particular skills are in drawing techniques, including life studies, painting and printing. She is keen on photography, especially photographic silk screen printing. She is also an experienced sculptor, having worked in a wide variety of materials.

Accommodation
All accommodation for residential artists is located in Lower House our four star Georgian town house.

Facilities
The Studio is our largest room, running the entire length of the first floor of the coach house. It's the heart of the art school. In order to get a really light, airy environment, we removed the roof and re-built it at a higher pitch and with several large roof lights. The studio is equipped with workbenches, easels, sinks and all of the equipment required for painting, drawing, printing, and sculpture as well as computers linked to a scanner and A3 printer. There are facilities for downloading images.

The Darkroom is completely enclosed on the ground floor and is a cool, quiet space. It has all the necessary equipment for film photography as well as an exposure unit for preparing photographic silk screens.

The Framing Studio is also based on the ground floor and provides an extra large working space.

Location
We are fortunate to be in such a beautiful location. Our courses make as much use of the beautiful Cornish landscape as possible. The Tamar Valley, Bodmin and Dartmoor are nearby, and both the North and South Cornwall coastlines are easily accessible.
