Learn the basics or fine tune your surfing with a lesson at the Gwithian Academy of Surfing.

The Gwithian Academy of Surfing is a British Surfing Association Approved Level 4 (the highest possible approval rating) surf school that operates from Gwithian - the Northernmost point of St Ives Bay - and is very close to the towns of Hayle and St Ives.

Surfing Packages
We offer surfing and accommodation packages from 3 to 7 nights for one or more people - good discounts are available for groups of 3 or more.

The Beginners/Improvers surfing lessons are two-hour lessons that cover safety issues, catching waves and standing up.

A Progressor Surfing Lesson can be arranged to ease the the transition between the first tentative steps and riding unbroken waves.

All lessons include a further one and a half hours hire of surfboard and wetsuit free of charge.

One on One Coaching is available to fine-tune your surfing for £75 for the first two hours and £30 per hour thereafter. This session includes video analysis, tips on reading the line-up, paddling and positioning techniques and hints to develop your wave riding and repertoire.

Accommodation
Our accommodation is provided in spacious suites, each having a private lounge with colour TV, tea/coffee maker and refrigerator, bath/shower/WC and bedrooms with double, twin or single beds. English or Continental Breakfasts are available if required. Each suite also has central heating and private car parking.

Qualified and Experienced Instructors
All Instructors are recognised by the governing body of surfing in Britain, The British Surfing Association and are Qualified S.L.S.A Beach Lifeguards.
