Description

Pennine Painting have been running art breaks and painting holidays for over 5 years from their purpose built fully equipped studios in the beautiful North Pennines in east Cumbria. Enjoy a fantastic break in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty while learning and practicing techniques and skills in painting and sketching.

We provide painting weekend packages and also tailor bespoke painting courses for individuals and groups. All abilities are welcome. We take sketching trips to beautiful locations including Hadrians Wall during your stay.

3 and 4 day Art Breaks

Our painting courses cover a range of different subjects, examples below:

- Landscape painting and drawing during Spring – sketching along the river South Tyne getting inspiration for spring colours in flowers, fells, waterfalls and hay meadows.

- Capturing the Spirit of the Land using Oils and Acrylic paints – break out of conventional representations and discuover new ways to express your feelings about the landscape and Nature in painting and outdoor sketching.

Each day runs from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm with tea, coffee, cakes and lunch all provided. The studio is open in the evening for students to continue should they wish. There is also the opportunity to enjoy an evening meal at a local restaurant/ inn followed by an illustrated slide talk.

Bespoke Art Holidays

We welcome individuals looking for 1 to 1 tuition and groups alike. We can tailor a painting course to suit you during your holiday.

Accommodation

The studio is located in Garrigill, a tranquil village in the heart of the Norh Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with excellent B&B accommodation a short walking distanc from the studio. There are also a range of B&Bs, hotels and inns nearby listed on our site within 10 mins drive of the studio. We are happy to help with recommendations and checking availability.
