The Walnut Grove is located in the beautiful Loire Valley in north western France. Our cookery holidays provide the perfect balance between cooking lessons, enjoying gourmet cuisine and exploring the Loire region.

Cooking holidays in France

Our 5 day cooking holidays are suitable for people of all skill levels, and will enhance your existing abilities while teaching you new techniques and recipes. We have courses throughout the year so please see our website for our full calendar list.

The cooking lessons are taught in a relaxed and fun atmosphere and each day will include some demonstration but predominately lots of hands-on cooking. We have two professional chefs and take no more than 8 clients on a course, so everyone has maximum personal attention. You will experiement with various flavours and use new techniques each day with the expert guidance of our professional chefs. The lessons will include:

- Knife skills
- Seasoning
- Homemade bread & pasta
- Basic butchery & fish prep
- Stocks & sauces, restaurant style
- Chocolate work, tuiles, caramel work
- Professional presentation
and much more!

In the afternoon you can enjoy visits to local cultural attractions, such as a 200 year old windmill still milling buckwheat flour in the traditional way, and a local fromagerie with cheese making demonstrations. You also get to relax and enjoy your luxury accommodation.
