				Description
We offer friendly and instructive short painting holidays in Scotland for discerning leisure painters in the peaceful surroundings of a lovely Scottish country house dating from the 17th century with emphasis on informality and relaxation.Enjoy the stunning scenery and magnificent views from the sea to Arran and the isles beyond. Experience the breathtaking sunsets, wonderful vistas and our own romantic ruin ... Portencross Castle, here in this beautiful part of Ayrshire on the Clyde coast.
Location
Based on the west coast of Scotland,…overlooking the Isle of Arran,… we specialise in short art breaks (all mediums) of a 3-day duration and all skill levels. We are ideally situated to explore the beautiful land and inspirational seascapes of southwest Scotland, while within easy reach of Prestwick and Glasgow airports with good rail and road links to Scotland's central belt.
The Tutor
The resident tutor for 2010 will be Ann Brooks (NDD, DA – Manchester Regional College of Art). Ann has an extensive background as a textile designer, potter and art teacher. Presently she is an art tutor in adult education.
The Course
The emphasis is on landscape/seascape painting. Art-break participants are encouraged to work in whatever medium they choose and hopefully extend their range and gain confidence while enjoying the conviviality of like-minded "weekend artists".
Non-painting partners are very welcome and many activities can be arranged if desired.
